This sure has been the month for teeth! All weekend Xander had been running a 100-102ยบ fever and was kind of cranky but didn't act sick otherwise. He wasn't avoiding food like the plague like he normally does while he's teething but low and behold, that was the problem! His top left incisor came in today with the right one not too far behind. No wonder Daddy didn't get to watch the IU game peacefully today!

Xander has turned into a mountain climber lately! He crawls over us if we're lying on the floor with him, climbs up on the treadmill and back down, and has even started climbing the stairs--by himself! Earlier this week, he wanted to follow Daddy upstairs as he got ready for his run so he held my fingers and up he went--knee, knee, pull-up. Then he had to follow Daddy back up when he went up for his after run shower. He was already getting better at it--knee, foot, pull-up. This morning he wanted to continue chasing Sully so up he went again, only this time he wasn't asking for assistance. He did the entire first section of the stairs COMPLETELY unassisted but by the second half he was getting winded and giggly (he was soooooooo proud of himself!!!) so I had to keep a hand on him when he stopped to rest. So now it's official--Chad realizes that we HAVE to have a baby gate!

We didn't think it was going to take too long and it didn't. Xander cut his right front tooth today. He now has all of his front teeth. He must have been singing, "All I want for my birthday is my two front teeth!" : )

I've got to share the sweetest story!! Friday was pizza day (his first time eating it) and we figured he'd devour it when we looked over the menu that morning before dropping him off. However, that's not exactly the report we got when we picked him up that afternoon. Evidently his latest thing is to crawl over to the counter when lunch is brought in and say "mmmmm" and Friday was no different. He was told to go sit down at the table and he waited there patiently (ha!) while they got his plate ready. When he finally got to dig in, he just kind of picked around at it and didn't eat too much. His teachers just figured his newest tooth hurt and let him get down. That's when we found out that his friend Ava was taking a nap at the time. He crawled over to her crib, sat down beside it, and waited on her to wake up. When she finally did, she was ready to eat so they ate lunch together. Little man wouldn't eat without her!! Isn't that just the sweetest story?!

Since Monday evening, Xander hasn't wanted to eat his dinner (and he's been having rough nights and naps) so we knew something was up. We could understand not wanting to eat peas (which he still hates) but refusing ravioli was really odd and spitting out Goldfish was unheard of! We figured that he must have had another tooth coming in and today it finally cut through. He now has a tooth on the top--his front, left one. YEA!!!!

Xander and Daddy enjoyed our day off today by having a hilarious conversation. Xander was crawling around upstairs in the loft and found a tangle of cords we haven't dealt with yet. Of course the first one he pulled on was attached to the unplugged floor lamp. He quickly found the plug and started to stick in his mouth. Chad told him no and Xander stopped, looked at him, and replied "Huh?" and then went back to trying to stick it in his mouth. Again Chad told him no and again Xander replied huh? This exchange went on for a few minutes while I sat in the desk chair laughing at them. Finally frustrated Daddy picked him up and carried him away while commenting on how much trouble we're in for over the next few years. : )
