We had another very quick visit on Thursday last week. I put on another 3lbs last month to get up to a whopping 14lbs. Dr. Lee seems satisfied by this amount so far but it seems awfully low to me for 32wks! Maybe that just means she isn't going to be a 9lber+ like her brother! : ) My blood pressure also looked good but I wasn't the only one that was checked this time. Chad asked to have his taken to make sure the "chest pains and numb left arm" weren't signs of a home buying-selling induced heart attack. : ) And, of course, his bp was normal as well.
Dr. Lee then asked about any contractions yet and the only ones I had to report were on the night that we received the offer on the house (a stressful night!). She also confirmed that I sailed by without gestational diabetes again. Woo hoo! The appointment was concluded with a belly measurement (satisfactory), heart rate check (146bpm again), and, at my request, a check of Emilie's position. She asked where I feel the most movement (right below my right side ribs) and said she definitely felt a butt right there and a head pointing down. After expressing my joy that she'd finally exit ready, I was reminded that she's still got plenty of time to move around and not to get too excited by her current position. If she's anything like Xander, finally abandoning the transverse position for the vertical position will be a permanent one. (Cross your fingers!)
That was our last monthly appointment. We'll have them every 2wks this month and then it'll be time for the weekly appointments! My how time flies! It's hard to believe we'll be meeting our first niece Joske is less than a month! And moving into our new Brownsburg home in 9 days!Comments:Add a comment:

Yes, you read the time correctly. It's 3am and once again, I can't sleep. I guess I'm getting prepared for the nighttime feedings!
We've been slightly busy these last few weeks so I apologize for the lack of updates on the kiddies! Here's what's been up with Miss Emilie lately. About a week and a half ago, we headed up to Carmel to get a sneak peak at Emilie's face. Before we got a good look, we learned about her personality and found out she's got attitude to spare! When the session started, we could see that she was definitely awake (her eyes were open almost the entire session, which is evidently kind of unusual) and nibbling on both of her hands. She wouldn't give us a peak of her face at all. Then she added a foot to her morning snack! I don't think we'll have any problems figuring out when she's hungry! : ) That's about when her attitude kicked in. She finally stopped chewing on her hands and started blocking her face with them. She looked like a celebrity shielding her face from the paparazzi! Then she must have realized it had been awhile since her last manicure because she started looking at the back of hand. And as if being caught (and already being a teenager), she flipped the camera off! It was so funny!! Like I said before, she's got plenty of attitude! Hmmm...wonder where she gets that?!
Then she showed us her sweet side and started snuggling my belly and the placenta. Awww! Finally, she faced the camera. We had been wondering if Mommy was actually going to contribute any genetic material to this child. As you've already seen from her pictures, that's another No. (I'm pretty sure I'm just a surrogate mother!) She appears to be the spitting image of her big brother, which is obviously a clone of Daddy. She's got chubby cheeks, big round eyes, and the shape of Xander's head. It was hard to get a clear shot though because the placenta was covering most of her (although through the magic of ultrasound technology the technician was able to "erase" most of it).
Before our time was up, we asked about her position and a guess at her weight. She is/was laying with her head on my right side, bottom on my left, and feet up by her face. That explains why most of her movement is on my right side! Unfortunately, still no guess on her size (the tech had to have a doc's order to do the measurements to determine her weight). At the rate my belly seems to be growing lately, we'll be surprised if she's not as big as Xander was. Yikes! As if we weren't anxious enough to meet her, we definitely are now! : ) We can't wait to see another blue-eyed, blonde-haired chubby baby running around, only with the addition of pigtails!Comments:Add a comment:
